Bowel Cancer Screening |
More than 95% of all colon cancers develop from polyps, nodular growths found in the lining of the bowel. Regular screening for these polyps by colonoscopy (conventional or virtual using specialised CT scanners) and the removal of polyps has been proven to vastly reduce the risk of developing colon cancer. Professor Dorudi provides screening services for bowel cancer at the Princess Grace Hospital. For further information on the Bowel Screening Clinic, please click here |

Diagnostic Imaging
Professor Dorudi utilises state of the art imaging at the Radiology Department, Princess Grace Hospital, London for the diagnosis of colorectal and anal conditions. He works closely with Consultant Radiologists, who are worldwide experts in their field of imaging, in order to provide an accurate and efficient diagnostic service.
The Radiology Department at the Princess Grace Hospital has 8 diagnostic rooms and a new digital screening room which allows examinations using the lowest radiation possible. A brand new 128 multi-slice CT scanner has just been installed which allows fine detailed imaging with significantly less radiation.
Computed Tomography (CT) Scan
Ultrasound Scan
The department has 2 Acuson Ultrasound machines which have the latest Acoustic Response Technology (ART) for accurate diagnosis
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
After a full clinical history and examination, many patients with colorectal conditions require high-quality MRI scans for visualisation of their pelvic disease. Working alongside expert Consultants in pelvic imaging, Professor Dorudi will be able to book you for an MRI scan of your abdomen and pelvis. These scan provide important diagnostic information on the stage (spread) of colorectal tumours or the presence and progression in response to treatment of fistulas/abscesses found in patients with inflammatory bowel disease. |
