Research Profile
I have a PhD from my research fellowship with Cancer Research UK on aspects of the molecular biology of colorectal cancer. In addition to my busy clinical practice, I jointly run a research program and lead a group comprising both clinical research fellows and scientists. My main areas of research focus on the prediction of tumour biology employing DNA microarrays and the investigation and augmentation of the host immune response in colorectal cancer patients. I have obtained a considerable amount of national and international research funding and my work has won a number of national prizes.
